Today’s three A to Z tunes titles are from the letter QQQ
QUESTION ~ The Moodly Blues https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NP9iOqdxS8c
Who remembers this piece of pop from 1970, or shall we say who remembers trying to hear this track being played on Radio Nordses Int during June of that year. Even hear in Essex, with the govermaint of the day trying to stop the ‘pirate radio ship’ we was lucky enough to along the east coast around the Thames Estury be able listen to the station , if you turn your traning radio a certain way you, you was lucky enough to ‘jam’ out the jamming signal, how for a few days near the election , a more powerfull ‘jamming’ signal was switched on from near Rochford near Southend....which not only jammed RNI (Radio Nordese) but also jammed BBC’s Radio 1. But lucky enough here in South East Essex we was able to hear the station on FM (VHF) . The tune itself something special, not a really long track, but a work
of art in sound!
QUANDO,QUANDO,QUANDO ~ Pat Boone https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szebpxR7tCw
Wow, April Love was fave, but this was a big hit too for Pat Boone, who was around a lot in the late 1950s and 60s. His music boarded between good pop, to country, and religion themes.
One of his most known films was the 1960s, Journey too the centre of the earth, remember with school mates during summer holiday’s seeing it, not once, but twice. Stayed in the cinema, and it again, got our moneys worth. This track itself was in fact on of those tunes that was on every singer choices.
QUIETLY BONKERS ~ Bernard Cribbins https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vsKa-M4muRg
This has to be one of those, maybe partly lefts overs from ‘right said fred’ Bernard Cribbins
he was totally a funny guy, his way was his own way. Quietly Bonkers I was wondering was it maybe on the other side of ‘Right said Fred’, it just seems a follow on using much the same music arrangements. He wasn’t know really for recording tunes, but over years he had a few tunes that was his trade mark!
