Tonight's episode of The Royal 7 p.m. ITV1 has an offshore radio theme:

A girls' trip out on board a pirate radio ship ends badly when the group is caught up in a siege. Dr Ormerod and Dr Weatherill are mystified when a Girl Guide leader miraculously recovers from a stroke.

Spin-off series from Heartbeat which did an episode featuring Radio North:

First shot is of the ship sailing out of Whitby Harbour. I can remember as a teenager going down to Whitby to see the Oceaan 7 sailing in after the MOA.

Blimey! That link is going back a bit and I can see all sorts of familiarities to all sorts of the 60's Stations. The ship in the link seemed like a cross between the Oceaan 7 and the Mebo 2.

A not so very 60's looking ship with a make-shift banner, short lattice tower and one DJ.
Radio Neptune is not a bad name though.
Have you noticed that these type of programmes always seem to have three storylines running together.
