Still not working for me, either Play of Download, just buffering.

Tried several other shows, all OK.

#6 please clean your temps and cookies - then try it again - in most cases this helps..
CCleaner is a very good tool for that:

Thanks Alec. It works!! Very Happy

Must be that some Podcast files are bigger than others and I didn't have room for the bigger ones.

The problem is that when you upload new files old cookies may get used which confuse the PC - so when you delete those, your PC has to use the new ones..
(well, thats what I understood when somebody tried to explain it to me.... Rolling Eyes Laughing )
And again upload VLC-media-player - I never have any problems with that and it really plays all sorts of formats and files then you will forget about WinAmp or Real they are just space-consuming rubbish that always cause problems

Okay, 'take two' of Saturday's show is now on the 'Listen again' page. I reduced mine by 10db. Maybe someone could compare the beginning of both and let me know which is better - or worse!

Firstly, on those who were reporting streaming problems, I streamed the last hour of Kev with no problems at all.

Chirpy, I couldn't tell any difference between the two versions, except I had to turn the volume up on the second of course. The first sounded fine, the second sounded the same only quieter.

Thanks Cookie, it must be my hearing then. Do you realise how embarrassing it was last night, doing a live gig and having to ask someone who arrived early if he could set the sound level for me because my ear was blocked and everything sounded distorted! Embarassed Good job it was a family affair.

Anyway, I shall remove the second one I uploaded and keep the original.

Playing your first show again (#21), it skipped in the same places so it wasn't a buffering problem, maybe the record jumped!

Yes, there were a couple of skips, a few updates from Microsoft were coming in and causing trouble. It's very unnerving when you're in full flow and the screen keeps freezing! Most of the time, it's just the screen, the buffers keep the music playing, but there were a copuple of small skips on Saturdays show. Must remember to turn off updates in future.

Cookie - you can put microsoft update settings on 'manual' so this won't happen again...

Or better still, get it to let you know when new updates are available but leave it up to you to download them.

Good point, that's what I do on my laptops, as they're often used on a dial-up line. My other PCs download automatically, but don't install until I say. Never been a problem before, but there were a lot of patches downloading last week, then of course the AV software has to scan 'em etc. I'll set the studio PC so it doesn't download, and in the meantime, just blame Bill Gates Laughing

Just had a helping of Chris Byland and now into Thursday's Chirpy show.
I wondered, is any record kept of the number of podcast plays or downloads?

Just listening to your 'Friday' show, now. Thanks for The Critters.

It's one of those songs where I have misheard the words for many years. I thought it was Mystifyingly Sad or similar but to find out it was Mr. Dieingly Sad has surprised me.

How about a 'most listened to Big L Podcast' chart?

Here's a challenge for you. During the 60s (NO - not during the war to quote Del's uncle/Grandad) I saw The Kinks at The Nautilus Club on Lowestoft Pier at a Big L Night Out and The Fingers were the support band.
Can you find any of their tracks?

This is so that I can listen to it on a Podcast (to keep on topic) Wink

The only band I could find called "The Fingers" were a hardcore punk band and I didn't like the title of their album.

Think that must be a different band. Check out this link [link] . It was a Radio London climber and there is an article about the band.
