There I was being very chuffed that the Big L Podcast were all accessible via Reciva on my radios. Then I wondered why the Fab40 cut out after a while. Then it happened with a Chirpy Show.

I checked on the Reciva forum. It seems that Reciva stops the podcast after 15 minutes then after a delay will restart at the beginning.

Nobody seems to know how to fix it at Reciva. Ah well, back to the PC.

Will the emperor Rosko's show be available to listen again features? I missed the rest of his country show, and can't find a listen again for him. Thanks! Wink

I tried to play from the podcast page and it stops after 4 secs, so I tried to download it. It gets to 987kb then freezes.
Anyone else have this problem?

I just tried it and it's working here Roger. Actually, I just listened to "Three of a kind #21", it was fantastic!

Still not working for me, either Play of Download, just buffering.

Tried several other shows, all OK.

The only problem here is (and it doesn't help, having a blocked ear thanks to my recent cold) that the show sounds very distorted. Maybe if it's a problem I'll reload it again, but it will be about an hour.

I don't think it's you Chirpy. Some other shows on the podcast page also just buffer.
Some work every time, some just buffer every time.

#6 please clean your temps and cookies - then try it again - in most cases this helps..
CCleaner is a very good tool for that:

I know Roger is very limited with bandwidth and he's using up a fair bit with these new streams. Maybe that's what is causing the buffering? I must admit I don't really understand the technical side of things in that department but I tried my show out when you mentioned the problem and it played without any buffering. However it's significantly louder than Cookie's show (which skipped a few times). I only uploaded mine this morning as I'd been doing a gig for my sister last night and didn't get home until the early hours. Then someone rang me up at 8:30 this morning to ask where my show was! Anyway, I'm in the process of removing s few decibels, then I'll upload it again.

Alec's suggestion (CCleaner) might do the trick.

Thanks Alec. It works!! Very Happy

Must be that some Podcast files are bigger than others and I didn't have room for the bigger ones.

No problems here, but I downloaded the shows, rather than streamed, so I wouldn't expect any problems. Currently listening to Kevs excellent show. Re. the level, it's one thing I have been meaning to mention. I normalise to -3db, which leaves room for any processing, without distortion. It's probably being a little overcautious though. Normalising at 0db would probably be fine. What do others do? Any advice from the more technically knowledgeable would be apreciated.

Okay, 'take two' of Saturday's show is now on the 'Listen again' page. I reduced mine by 10db. Maybe someone could compare the beginning of both and let me know which is better - or worse!
