Re:RickAinley

Welcome to Big L International. The station that is deep in history since 1964, and has just started to regroup and regaining tons of listeners again thanks to the return of our AM service across Holland and most of the UK. But booming around the world online, with many happy Big Hellers in the US,Northern Europe, South East Asia, Australia, and many more enjoying Big L's wide range of tunes appealing to all ages.

Hey I noted you are into radio, hmmm idea won't it be great if maybe your station could sometime link up with the Big L, exchange chat, and of best music from 50 years or more!

Anyone feel the same!

Well, it looks like I can only make the previous weekend's shows available when I get back to DC this weekend. Sadly I left the thumb drive with the shows on at home. (That's what happens when you try and travel with a four month old Smile )

So, for know, I'm wishing all the BigL listeners a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year wherever they are.

CHEERS.

Is it on Eric's server Rick? If so, either download it from your folder (if the server will let you) or ask Eric to send it to you.

So, battling extra airline security, a stomach bug then a steaming cold, I was able to get last weekends shows online. See the first post for links.

Hi,

I've now updated with this weekends Shows. The Transatlantic Top 20 is for January 1979 which was such a great show I could have easily filled a couple of hours with. (Alas I was completely under the weather when recording this one with that nasty lurgy so tried to keep the music flowing).

See the first post for the links - [link]

Sorry Rick, I tried spraying the mic with disinfectant but it obviously didn't work. Very Happy

BTW. I've sent you an email with details of how to use the new 'Listen again/Podcast' feature.

I think I found the bit the spray missed! Cool

The weekend's shows are on the "Listen Again/Podcast' feature and that's where new shows will appear. Very Happy

I've just listened to the last 10 mins of this show whilst on my break, it got to the start of "Yeah, Yeah" (Was that original or a rerecording? It didn't sound original.) and the stream went down. I checked the "BIG radio" and it's still going out on 1395 however.

I had my suspicions, but it was the only copy I could find. I tried various sources and it all sounded the same, and a few of them usually indicate if it's a re-recording but I must admit I wasn't convinced. That said, the number 1 position is not one I wish to announce and then not play Very Happy

It should be on the Listen Again later today.

I agree, a re-record is better than no record, at least it gives the listeners some idea of how the record sounded. (However, we wouldn't want the dj to sing it though, would we?? Laughing Laughing )

Bringing back Transatlantic Top 20 this coming Sunday (21st) morning @ 3am GMT, 4am CET. This weekend taking a look at the US and UK charts from February 1972. Two chart topping versions of "I'd like to Teach the World to Sing" and much more....

It took a small hiatus due to the fact I was spending more time with a shovel in the snow than in the studio..... Cool

(First hour of many digging out, the snow walls are 2ft high, although it doesn't look like from the angle!, and this was just the first 2010 storm)

Both weekend shows will start to be made available on the Listen Again site as well.

Next week, Transatlantic Top 20 will be February 1968.

March, still working those out.
