CURRENT SHOWS

Current shows can be found at the BigL podcast site [link]

Thanks.

Hi Everybody,

Just an introductory note to say hello. My shows at the weekend, 3am GMT come from my bunker in Washington, DC.

The Saturday morning show will play a great blend between the US and UK/European oldies and I'll be playing some of those originals that were covered in the UK. e.g. Cliff Richards 1963 hit Lucky Lips was originally released by Ruth Brown in 1957. I played that last weekend. Let me know if you would like to hear any the rarely played orginals (if I can find them). I plan to add some of those "Only in America" odd moments as well as some US Trucking news for the overnight truckers.

Sunday's show will be Transatlantic Top 20 where we'll play some of the best selling singles from this month in a given year culminating in the Top 3 from both sides of the pond. We just did 1973 and next weekend we plan 1966 (Good year for England Very Happy ). Again, if anyone has a year for a special reason please let me know. rick(at)biglradio.co.uk

As always, emails, comments, unused fifty dollar bills will be welcome.

Cheers, Rick (Richard)

p.s. Despite the location, I'm a Brit who left the mothership nearly ten years ago (Not for warmer climes, we had 3" snow yesterday)

Hi Rick, another across the pond friend. I am the Yank from Chicago. Your show sounds great and please don't send that snow my way. Say hello to President Obama, and have a great day. Wink

Didn't some of the snow wander your way (or about to)? I tried to say hello to Mr. President but they discovered I wasn't invited for afternoon tea. Cool

Funny, I wonder what will happen to those people that crashed the Presidents dinner. I think a felony is in order. And yes thank you, you did a great job sending me that snow. It arrived yesterday. I'll try to return to sender. Laughing Laughing

Very Happy Yes, I'll have to sort something out, Give me a few days. Crazy at work and the dealing with huge DC potholes. (Bent a rim nicely last week when I hit it at 60mph!!).

Email is rick(at)biglradio.co.uk and if you have any American originals etc or other requests, just lemme know.

Thanks

Thanks. I drive past Watergate most nights on my way home, just after they've reversed Rock Creek parkway as I head towards Virginia. I'll wave Very Happy Nice place there. Mclean is also rather nice, drive past that on the beltway in the morning! (or crawl past that, 495 makes the M25 look like a race track some mornings!)

Rick Great shows!! How about featuring Johnny Crawford on your next show?

Johnny Recorded "Cindys Birthday"

The Brit version was by Shane Fenton.

BOTH-great tracks

Thanks again.
