For those of you who are members of the new Music Radio Talk site, I have posted a two-page article printed in a Swedish DX magazine this month. It started off as an email I sent to one of our KBC listeners called Alf Persson from Sweden who 'stumbled' onto Big L on the opening night and got in touch with me the following day. He often used to listen to the Chloé & Chirps show on KBC and was quite surprised to hear us again on Big L.

In my reply, I gave Alf a brief history of Big L, past and present. I hadn't realised at the time but Alf used to listen to Big L in the 60's. Embarassed Then I explained how I managed to get involved.

After receiving my email he asked me if he could publish it in a Swedish DX magazine he was associated with. Once I realised it would involve free advertising for Big L I added a bit more information. It ended up as a two-page article which included info on the different ways of listening to Big L.

The magazine is called Eter Aktuellt and the two-page article is called "Ett brev från Big L" (A Letter from Big L).

I would have preferred to post the article here but it's in PDF format and will only open if I upload it to a Website.

Well worth reading. I think many of us can relate to a lot of the sentiments expressed. Good publicity for the station also. Thanks for posting it.

Very nice and informative article - really refreshing to read !
but I miss a mentioning of the names of the other presenters who also give their blood and soul to let BigL happen

As I said Alec, the article was originally just a reply to a personal email from a listener in Sweden which I wrote the day after Big L returned to 1395. I had no idea it was going to be published in a magazine.

Speaking for myself, I'm just glad the station's got some good publicity. It's difficult to include everyone that's involved in every article, after all, it's not just the guys running the show (Eric & Roger), or the presenters, it's all those (like yourself and many on here) working behind the scenes, supporting, promoting and doing all they can to assist the station. The key thing to get across is about the station and what is stands for. I believe the article achieved this very well.

Absolutely. This is an excellent way to attract new listeners. Let's all keep our ears and eyes open for similar opportunities
