YOURS ~ Vera Lynn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FqaHnJDfIO0
The voice of Vera Lynn during the second world war for in a way the listening post telling that all was well at home to forces based aboard. Vera was in the mid 1930s a music hall singers, appearing to a large following, and the war clouds gather again in the late 1930s the was a feeling that another world war looked like it was gonna be. As war took all those that was fit to fight there King and country. A woman from Kent , made it her job to try and entertain the forces troops out in Europe and be on. The voice of the now and at last, services to the forces Dame Vera Lynn. Yours would sum up many peoples feeling at the time, and still today. Dame Vera at 93, still entertains with her music so well known, for so many reasons.

YEH,YEH ~ Georgie Fame & The Blue Flames https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReZQrA9UiYM
In the late 1950s in the big city’s, like London and other here in the UK and some aboard the was a growing move towards skiffle small music groups trying to get known. One of those was the UK’s Georgie Frame Group, playing blues and soul beat music, which found there market in Coffee and Milk Clubs , offering teens seating in the coffee shops around our cities sometime a blues souls group jamming. Or the juke box bashing the tunes out on new small disc’s they was called ‘the 45s 7inch discs played like the normal records, and did not smash so easy of the 78s rpm 10inch breakable . It was rumoured that Radio Carolines Ronan O’Rahilly watched Georgie at work, and had a idea, how he could get these and other pop groups of the day........and its widely thought Radio Veronica gave him the idea! Plus this was spoke off at Flashback 88 Blackpool, where R joined us in a chat!

YESTERDAY, ONCE MORE ~ The Carpenters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTaWayUE5XA
Brother and Sister, easy listening The Carpenters shoot into the hit chats in early 1970. With a charming tune that was arranged played bros Richard , the main voice was that of Karol, his sister. I can’t recall any tune by this couple before this was released in April 1970 in the UJK and near Europe. It was the first of many easy on the ear medley. Yesterday Once More, was part of a album released world wide in 1973. Sadly a few years after Karol Carpenter passed away, was the end of a special mix of beautiful music. To date the have never been any follow up bands or group too take there place......What a lost in music.
