Today’s three A to Z tunes titles are from the letter VVV

VENUS~ Frankie Avalon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqGwixEOshA
One of those real US oldies from late 1950s. The kinda tune teen gals would be seen walking from school, dreaming of be Frankie Avalon’s gal. We can’t say really that Frankie Avalon was a ‘one hit wonder’ but in saying that, I can’t really remember, much other hit tunes from him. I guess the are tunes he recorded but like many wasn’t big hits. Over the years Venus became a big hit penned, but not the same arrangement by Dutch pop band Shocking Blue in 1968.

VOULEZ - VOUS ~ Abba https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAqKPq9E0jU
One the biggest winners of the Eurovision Song Contest, who only won it once like most over the last 60 years with Abba with ‘WaterLoo’ in 1974. But word that has sometimes bugged the Eurovisi’ that they win it and no one ever hears any more of them. Well yes I told Abba was around before Eurovision, but well the song contest, did make this 4 piece ‘pop’ group from Swed on known everywhere, with their easy to listen to pop.

VALERIE ~ Amy Wine House https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEM39uK2VjM
One of the new voices in pop over the last few years, was that of Amy WineHouse. A London girl jazz /blues singer, who was doing very good in jazz ,pop and blues. I found her voice her voice something that wasn’t the normal sound which made her sound very ‘not your normal’ pop voice. Sadly a few years ago she died, and in music terms she was and in years to come her music will be know, because of her ‘voice’.
