Today’s three A to Z tunes titles are from the letter K

KEEP ON RUNING ~ Spencer Davis Group https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kamXvqoL_JA
During 1965,66, 67 this blues pop ‘group’ hit the UK chats in 1965with a few hits which suited the music market at the time. Together with the help of Radio London and Caroline ,the group had a couple of big hits here in the UK. However the US wasn’t so keen , but the group did break into the US chats later, and down under in Australia was a big hit.
In latter years in the 1980s on the theme of ‘pirate radio’ this was the years, land based stations got into act and a lotta ‘pirates’ would use this tune as a warning that the not so keen people who job it was to try and stop the illegal broadcasts.

KAFKA ~ Manhatter Transfer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2vkzFa5kh
During the 1980s along with the music of the day, which was changeable like the weathers, a US easy listening jazz and mood music group of singers got together and give jazz and big bands music over the last 40 years or so, there own angle of that theme. A jazz group performing well known ‘big band faves’ but in there own way that during the 1980s opened up the jazz theme market to many more, with their own ways creating jazz that became easy listening.

KNOCK THREE TIMES ~ Dawn https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yii1ufTyOWs
The 1970s created what many in the music world would say was the age of great tunes done well. Dawn who was a guy called Tony Orlando, who was one the early music set to a pop tune, getting the title of pop video. This track was his second hit, with was a million seller. Until he penned that 1973 mass hit......Tie a yellow ribbon, with message of yellow ribbon being peace and love. But music from Dawn only lasted a short time , it was replaced by the forerunner of the new wave of progressive rock to punk rock to heavy ‘metal’.
