Today’s three A to Z tunes titles are from the letter I

I COULD HAVE DANCED ALL NIGHT ~ Julie Andrews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BmyaoNJIsWE
Wow remember in the mid 1960s, all my family, over the space of 6 months going to see The Sound Of Music, up in the west end, London. But me at the time was cool, was a Caroline fan, but HELLO Radio London came! Funny enough remember summer hoildays of 1964, and listening to Caroline when sadly no longer with us, Simon Dee, hosted an afternoon show called Soundtrack, and for a couple hours, he would dip into more easy listening tracks, and Julie Andrews was a singing voice offen heard. But the song, I could have danced all night from an early hit US musical ‘My Fair Lady, was another winner for Juile Anderews in1964.

I REMEMBER YOU ~ Frank Ifield https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTTH4dvEEZM
A millon seller both in Aussie and in the UK in the early 60s. But from my history of this tune, that info may not be totally right. Cause remember hear mum and dad talking about they liked that tune, and I think I remember them talking about him being a bus driver on London Buses area this time in the 60s. Had he just come over from Sydney, or was he born here in the UK. But its know yeah he did go back to Sydney and kinda faded into where ever!

I LOVE THE SOUND OF BREAKING GLASS ~ Nick Lowe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M_UOUMlNUUA
Around the late 1970s, music had ‘progressived’ to moving away from Lep Zep stuff of 70s, a more mellow theme, still pop under done the new label ' New Wave’ which was the starting of the punk sounds, however the was also another range of tunes, funny enough coming just 5 miles from where I live...from the oil island as was once called, Canvey Island. Around latest 1970s think it was 1977, yeah punk had replaced zep, with all that showbuss stuff.
Canvey Island was the home blues soul from our friends (well bros mainly Wilk (Dr feelgood). Nick and Wilkco help them start there band........so no more about that until ‘T’ maybe.

CHECK OUT THREE MORE TUNES TOMORROW FROM THE LETTER “J” FROM 10AM UK
