Mi Amigo RSL Harwich

Anyone got a handle on how the 106.8 is getting out?
Their FB seems to imply it is making it to Ipswich?!

Hi John,
I'm "just about" getting it on a car radio about 12 miles away.
Tony Currie on at the moment.
I may venture over there later, and see how the signal improves as I get nearer.

Strong signal about 8 miles out and very good as I approached Harwich.
Apparently a few hotspots in Harwich where it can't be picked up.

You can go onboard the LV18 while it is broadcasting, and there were quite a few visitors on board.

On the pier nearby, Chris Dannett has his Pirate Memories Exhibition, and it is very good (and free).

Thanks for the info Keith. I couldn't manage to come over myself, but good to know it's a success. That part of the country is bound to have many anoraks, having had the stations in sight. I think Suzy, Steve and Danny had interesting memories on air today.

I'm sitting in for Steve tomorrow and I'm planning a "day after" content, talking about what happened afterwards, Philip Birches intentions to find ways to continue, what happened to the Galaxy, the Radio London/BigL revival and what led to today's BigL

What I've heard over the last half hour has been disappointing. I.e. not much aligned to the Mi Amigo I remember.

Too much personal music being played.

Hope it improves before they run out of time. :(

I've really been enjoying the varied output - nice to hear the Peter Chicago Radio Day interview played by Bart Serlie, and there's Tony Prince to look forward to this evening 8)
I've half a mind to travel over to Harwich and if I wasn't already going to Stoke v Aston Villa I would do.
Although it would be slightly surreal seeing Enda and Tony on another lightship

I don't know about the FM signal but I am sure many of you have heard the webstream by now, Technically the station is a shambles the levels are blasting the speaker out of your radio one minute and the next you can hardly hear it. It sounds nothing like Radio Mi Amigo as I remember it. Its not got any better as the broadcast has gone on and really is sadly quite an embarrasement to the original Radio Mi Amigo. :(
