I guess you're talking about when broadcasting from the Jenni Baynton.. - aren't you ?

No no Alec, just the base land transmitter.
I live 95 km from the transmitter, and you can listen to radio Waddenzee just whit a portable radio.
That is the same distance to Amsterdam :D

... and you're not talking about your miraculous antenna with which you received even John Freeman's MAR on 1395 khz. ?? :D :D
Maybe I'll make it to Holland in August or Sept. when I plan to see my parents in Münster and test myself - because "never trust an radio-amateur"
(they are like the hunters telling 'jager-latijns'
Nee, Theo hoor - natuurlijk I believe you - but it is amazing with only 1 KW

ha ha fun Alec, but its true, most hams are very positive whit there stuff.
And I'm no exception, but telling no very tales

I just wrote, receiving whit a portable radio.
When I listen whit my Icom and long wire antenne, its just a FM station.
Big signal, big signal.
On the other hand, I receive also 1 KW stations from the UK.
In day time.
(on the Icom and big wire antenna, not on the portable radio)

Theo

its amazing your antenna as MAR 1395 has only 0.1 KW - thats what the AM-map (below) tells

In wintertime, I hear the 1 watt stations as well.

For our Dutch friends- Radio Humberside is a BBC local station- and the future of the whole network is u for review because th BBC has to make big spending cuts- so it is possible this frequency may be closed down in the UK

Nothing to hear :?
They stopt transmitting at 10.23.
That was told to me by a other ham radio friend, who live close to my neighbourhood.
Signal report was a S8 for Marina en a S9 + 10 DB for Waddenzee.
He used a quart wave sloper wire antenna.

Theo

No, I do not know that.

But I suppose that only the ship transmitter is used for Marina.
The land transmitter for Waddenzee, be-course that transmitter is working.

Maybe they switched off for a few adjustments - thats what test-transmission are for.... so adjustments are due.
They propably will be back soon...
But wouldn't signal-reception from ship be better than from land at your place - sea-water effect... ?

Still no signal
I think, that the antenna tuner is broken, the antenna on the ship is to short for 1485 KHz.
And I can imagination, that this is a tough technical problem for them.

Here in Beesd (on the way from Utrecht to Den Bosch) at 13:25 CET Weak signal on 1485 (S1, lots of static) with English presented oldies show. I guess it's not Marina. Waddenzee 1602 quite pleasant signal (S3, little static)
