Today is the day that 42 years ago the Caroline ships were towed away.
I remember waking up in the morning to silence and concern.
As the days went by the rumours came and went and sadness set in.
Caroline in its greatest ever era was gone.
I think, therefore I am............ I think.

Thanks for mentioning that Les.

I remember that day too. Expecting to hear the Roger day show I switched on the radio... SILENCE... and that's how it stayed.

I actually remembered the date this year - hadn't done for a long time. Felt devastated at the time, wouldn't move the dial because I was sure they wouldn't be gone long, and nobody understood why I was so upset - most of my school friends were listening to Radio 1 by this time. :(

Yes I remember. It was the Netherlands that made it possible for Caroline to continue after the MOA, but it was also a Dutch company that pulled the plug.In the Netherlands at least we still had Veronica at that time, even though I preferred (and still do today) the English off-shore radio style. That's why my present friend is BigL.

Nice to see some Chirpy posts here again, by the way!
